molecular mass of water (H2O) = 2×(mass of 1 H atom) + mass of O atom

=> molecular mass = 2×1+16
=> molecular mass = 2+16 = 18u

mass percentage of hydrogen = mass of hydrogen in water / molecular mass of water × 100

=> mass % of hydrogen = 2/18×100
=> mass % of hydrogen = 100/9 = 11.1%

mass % of oxygen = (100-11.1)%= 88.9%

hope this helps

Mark as Brainliast

Explanation:

Molecular mass of H2O=2*1+16=18u

Percentage of H in H2O= 2/18*100=11.11%

Percentage of O in H2O= 16/18*100=88.99%
