Given:

Volume of solution = 200 cm³

Weight of NaOH = 10 gm

Density of solution = 1.4 gm/mol

To find:

The molality of the solution.

Solution:

We know that Molality = moles/ weight of solvent (kg)

And weight (gm)= volume * density

Weight (kg) = volume*density / 1000

And moles = weight/ molecular weight

Molecular weight of NaOH = 40

Putting the values we get:

∴ Molarity = [10/40] * [1000/ (200*1.4)]

Molarity = 0.89 m

Therefore the molarity of solution is 0.89 m.
