Sublimation process is taken place when camphor disappears when kept in air for few days.

Camphor is made of sublime solid. This is the reason why the camphor disappears if kept in air for few days. The process of converting the solid directly to gas is called sublimation.

In ordinary temperature when camphor is placed it directly converts the solid camphor in to gas which is not visible to the eyes. The physical state of the camphor is changed when camphor is converted in to gas.

Sublimation is caused by the heat absorption in which the certain energy is provided to overcome the attractive forces.
