No , a cat cannot survive in water because it doesn't have gills as the fishes have . It breathes through lungs like we , the human beings do.

A cat is most unlikely to survive in water. Unlike aquatic animals like fishes, they lack gills to help them breathe in water. They are terrestrial animals. So, they have lungs to aid them breathe in land, not in water. God has made each and every one of his creations unique. While some animals are adapted to live in water, others like cats and humans are adapted to live in land. So a cat would die in water.
