Can any one explain periodic and non-periodic motion?

All other motions on earth are non-periodic (not happening accurately at regular intervals of time), because of gravity, friction, interactions, etc. The motion that does not repeat itself at regularintervals of time is called non-periodic motion. ... If you can set your clock by it, it's got periodic motion.
