can anyone explain the concept of advanced sunrise and delayed sunset???

The atmosphere of the Earth causes refraction of light. It bends a little bit over the horizon. That is why we can see the Sun rise about two minutes before we should be able to see it without atmospheric refraction. And the same goes for sunset, where we can see the sun touching the horizon when it is geometrically speaking already behind the horizon.
