In simple a magnetic force experience around the region of a magnet is called magnetic field of magnet.
in 1819 a science teacher H.C. Oerstead in school in Denmark investigated when electric current is passed to the conducting wire a magnetic field is produced in a region around it.

now passing electric current to wire by placing the key set their with cardboard remain Standing and Dept the board two or three times. look at the cardboard that what is the effect of electric current on and feelings you will see the Diner feelings will get arrange in the can concentrate in circular shape around a conducting wire. the circular pattern represent a magnetic field resulting from electric current through the wire on a specific axis. to know the direction of this magnetic field place a magnetic needle near some point P the direction which in North Pole of magnetic need a row. Syndicates direction of magnetic field at that point.
