Gravitational force is the attractive force between 2 objects or bodies having mass
This force is given by the equation
F = Gm₁m₂/r²
where,
m₁ and m₂ are the masses of the body
G is the universal gravitational constant
r is the distance between the 2 masses
Examples of gravitational forces are:
- Force that hold the moon towards the earth
- Force which makes a car to move downhill on a slope even without accelerating
- Force which makes a ball to fall downwards when dropped

Gravitational force acts between every two particles of matter in this universe.
The gravitational force is between two bodies of masses m1 and m2 separated by a distance r is given by
SI unit of gravitational force is Newton.
