chemical name of gypsum is calcium sulphate and it is also known as plaster of paris and formula is CaSo4. half H2O . it is special property of delaying the setting of cement when cement is mixed with water. it is used in building industry as well as plasters (I.e. immobalizing the affected part of oragan when there is fractured ) and used in making ornaments and status
