Primarily contains carbon which comes out in the form of carbon dioxide upon burning.
But the burning of coal is the reason for pollution as there are other acidic gases such as SO2 and NO2 which are being released and when they come into contact with rain, they turn into their respective acids such as H2S04 as well as H3PO4.
