Terms

A Term  can be a Number, Variable or Constant that is present in an Algebraic Equation.

Constants are also called Terms.

Examples of Terms: 3x, 4y, 9, √2, etc....

Co-Efficient

Co-Efficient is the Numerical value that is present beside the Variable in an Algebraic Equation.

Co-Efficients are always accompanied by Variables.

If a Number is not accompanied by Variable, It becomes a Constant and not a Co-Efficient.

Examples of Co-Efficients:

  • In the Term '3x' → '3' is the 'Co-Efficient' and 'x is the 'Variable'

In the Question, Terms and Co-Efficients are:

  1. Terms = 6x²y², -9x²y²z², 4z²;      Co-Efficients = 6, -9, 4
  2. Terms = 3xyz, -8y;                       Co-Efficients = 3, -8
  3. Terms = 6.1x, -5.9xy, 2.3y;          Co-Efficients = 6.1, -5.9, 2.3
  4. Terms = 4xy, -3xy², -2y;                Co-Efficients = 4, -3, -2
