And thundering is the shock wave produced by the lightning discharge.

Hi.,
Thunder and lightning usually occur at the same time, light travels faster than sound so lightning is seen before thunder can be heard. Thunder Is the rumbling sound that is heard during thunderstorms. It is caused by the fast expansion of gases in the electrical charge of lightning in a thunderstorm.
Thunder is the sharp or rumbling sound that accompanies lightning . It is caused by the intense heating and expansion of the air along the lightning channel. The rumble of thunder is caused by the noise arriving from parts of the channel at different distances... I don't know more then this.
.
I hope this answer help you.
