Can Indian government to discrimination on the basis of religion? Why or why not?

The simple answer is NO.

As discrimination is against humanity it can't be considered as acceptable. India is a secular state where no religion is official religion of country and no person can be discriminated on the basis of religion.

I think so yes because at the collages open castes had to secure above 90 but other castes after securing only70or75 they will get the admission it is due to the first constitution that Dr baba saheb told to rajiv Gandhi to give 10 yrs to show their talent and but he gave for lifetime

Pranavboss071: In 1976, 42nd amendment was made in the constitution which added the word 'Secular' in the preamble of the constitution. It basically meant that india is not religious not irreligious, so no government could differentiate on the basis of religion.
