Is it the eyes that see or the brain through the eyes?

Our brain actually 'sees' whatever wesee, eyes are just receptors for vision. ... Same way, even if someone has lost his eyes, he can 'see' things if visual cortex is stimulated artificially. Duringdreams our eyes are not transmitting new information to brain.
