1 is one and has 3 letters.

3 is three and has 5 letters

5 is five and has 4 letters.

4 is four and has 4 letters.

2 is two and has 3 letters.

The rule is count the letters in the number.

anusha2001: but how is four universal
TSO: Because 4 has 4 letters. Every other number is made up of a different amount of letters.

Count the letters in every number. (etc. one [o-n-e{3 letters}] 3 [t-h-r-e-e] 5 [f-i-v-e] 4 [f-o-u-r] four has the same amount of letters in it).
