Okay, first let's find the mean.

To find the mean you have to add all the numbers and divide them by the total number of numbers you have. Confused???

a) To find mean =

=19+19+20+20+20+21+22+22+22+22+20/11

=230/11=20.9090...

Confused...

We have to calculate two 19s because it's frequency is so .Likewise do the rest (20 three times, 22 four times etc.)

Now to round the decimal point

The answer we got is 20.9090

Rounding to one decimal point

We get 21

b) It is very simple to find out this answer,

The question is that one more player comes to the team and the mean becomes 22.

That means the denominator becomes 12 (since one more age is added)

So you just multiply 12*22 which gives you 264.

Now subtract 264-230 that gives you 34 and that is the age of the new player

Not believing this method, then try multiplying 11*21(the earlier mean) the answer you get is 231 which is a near estimation to 230 because we rounded a decimal point.

Now don't say that a 34 aged player is too much old. Hey don't forget that Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus at the age of 32-33 something.

Just Joking

Hope you will not be stuck any more

Happy to help
