Onion peel should not be handled with fingers. It should be handled and transferred with the help of a brush.
It should not be folded
The staining of the material should neither be too dark nor too light.
Excess stain should always be washed away with the help of water.
While covering the material with the coverslip care should be taken to see that no air bubbles get inside.
Extra glycerine solution or water coming out from the sides of the coverslip should be removed by soaking it up carefully with the help of a blotting paper.
