Hey friend!

The largest coast on the Pacific Ocean is of India..
The Indian ocean is just under the India, that's how it got it's name..
Many navigators and sea routers used to go through this route to travel to India..It was thus named as Indian Ocean..
India also holds the central location at the head of the Indian Ocean...It has the longest coastline in the world..
India also acts as an important point for connection of many sea routes connecting two regions..
India's center location also helped in increasing it's economic growth

Hope this helps

here you go

Indian Ocean is named after India because:-

1)  India holds a central location which is at the head of the Indian Ocean.

2)  India has the longest coastline in the region adding to its sway.

3) India serves as an important transit point for sea routes connecting the two regions - Europe and East asia.

i hope this is what you wanted
