can you run an
electric geyser with power rating 2kw 220v on a 5A line?Give reason for your answer

1 kw.is 1000w.....and W= V*I.

W = 220 * 5 → 1100W

so it is 1.1 kw.

so u cannot run a geyser with 2kw rating.
This is the simplest way u can do it.

Here,
V = 220 V
P = 2kW = 2000 W
Let the current passing through it be I
So, I = P/V = 2000/220 = 9.09 A (approx)

Since the current required by the geyser js more than 5 A, it cannot be used in a 5 A line.
