Here is description of national interests of india in contradiction and compliance with the national interests of other neighboring countries.

1. Pakistan--- Pakistan is  will remain a permanent fixture on the agenda of India’s policy makers as it is nearest neighbor and lot of scope of development is lying there. The relationship between India and Pakistan have remained tense since india pakistan partition in 1947. The countries have fought wars over the kashmir province as well and there is more hate and less normalcy in the relations. However the leaders of both the states claim to be ready for friendship and ways of mutual development.

2. China---- Since china is very big country and on better speed of development. Thus In terms of geographic and demographic dimensions, skilled manpower of state , depth of civilsation, China is the only country in the Asian region which qualifies for comparison with India because all other countries are very far from india in these respects.

The two countries have a long history of civilisational links since ages. Soon after its independence of india in 1947, and the Maoist revolution in China, India went an extra mile to reach out to the communist regime. India was quick in recognising China, and supported its entry into the United Nations; recognized Tibet as an autonomous region of China The 1962 border conflict after a short war between the two countries. therefore came as a political shock to India.

Still there are some border disputes lying between the states.
