World War 1 (1914 - 1918) happened when Austria-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie, were assassinated in Serbia by a local terrorist under an organization called 'Black Hand'. As a result, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, who was backed up by Russia.

Following this, Germany declared war on Russia and France. Then, the Germans invaded neutral Belgium and caused the British to declare war on them. Later, Austria declared war on Russia, though was soon declared war upon by Britain and France.

On the other hand, World War 2 (1939 - 1945) started when the Treaty of Versailles, League of Nations and Appeasement Policy failed. Adolf Hitler became the German leader in 1933 and continued to make more banned-in-Germany weapons such as aircraft and submarines, later forming the Nazi Party.

Also during this time reigned the fascist Italian leader Benito Mussolini and the Great Depression of 1950. To gain more land and resources for growth purposes, Japan continued to expand their empire by urging Asians to get rid of foreigners as it would have been easier for Japan to conquer Asia.
