The Jury Act of 1827 was opposed by many Indians. One of the grounds for opposing it was that it denied both to the Hindus and Mohammedans the honor of a seat on the Grand Jury.Sir Syed Ahmed Khan ,Raja Rammohan Roy.

Answer:

Raja Ram Mohan Roy strongly opposed the Jury act of 1826.

Explanation:

According to this act, Only Christians conduct trials of Christian accused but this was not the case with Hindu and Muslim convicts. They could not be tried by any Hindu or Muslim judge. Roy was against this practice as it promoted discrimination and gave the British accused an unfair advantage. He was also opposed to other evil practices such as Sati and spoke against the malpractices happening in the society.
