Engines need energy to move. This is true whether you are talking about the internal combustion engines that power most cars or the processes that power organic life forms. Internal combustion engines get their energy through the process of combustion, while organisms get their energy through a process called cellular respiration. The two processes are very similar in nature.

Answer:

Respiration is similar to the working of petrol engine. In cellular respiration, stored energy in the form of food ( glucose) is required that is metabolised and energy is obtained in the form of ATP ( adenosine triphosphate) that if used for driving various processes.

Similarly, petrol engine requires energy for its working. The energy is obtained through internal combustion ( that is burning of fuel takes place), which finally provides energy to power most cars.
