Hey friend,
A very simple answer to your question:-
If you want to check whether a number is prime or not, you should write down all the factors of the number. If it has only 2 factors i.e, 1 and the number itself, then it is a prime number.
Eg.
Factors of 13- 1, 13
So 13 is a prime number.
Factors of 12- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12.
So 12 is not a prime number.
Hope this helps you... : )
