India has its islands reaching to the far south. It can make any of the islands as naval deployment place. India can control trade links with Gulf of Aden as well as Malacca strait by allowing movement of the ships in these regions. Lakshadweep on the western side andAndaman and nicobar on the eastern side of the country provide feasibility to contribute forSAGAR( security and growth for all in the region).

India, being at the tip of equator becomes a favourable place for launching Geo- stationary satellite. It has satellite launching station, Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. By launching satellite from this position. India can trackMalacca strait, Australia , middle East and the littoral countries of Indian ocean.

It is because of the presence of India, Indian ocean is warm. So, navigation can be done through out the whole of the year.
