Certain mass of gas occupies 1 L of volume at 27 C. Calculate the temperature at which the gas will occupy 500 mL, keeping the pressure constant.

V2=1/2×2=1.

P1=100 Pascal.

P2=1/2×100 pascal.

T1=27°C=273+27=300 K

T2=?.

Applying the formula of gas law,

V1 P1/T1=V2P2/T2.

2×100/300=1×50/T2

T2=50×1×300/2×100

T2=75 K

T2=(75-273)°C

T2=-198°C
