Answer:

Let's take ' Y ' for black trait and ' y ' for white trait.

So in Guinea Pig the pair of alleles for colour would YY, Yy,yy. YY and yy is homozygous and Yy is heterozygous.

Since the F1 generation obtained by crossing a black and white are all black.

(black) (white)

YY yy

(Y) (y)

Yy F1 generation (all black)

The F1 resembled either one of the parents and the trait of the other parent was not seen in them.

F2 generation raised by crossing F1

Yy Yy ----- F1 generation.

(black) ( black)

(Y) (y) (Y) (y) are the alleles

YY , Yy, Yy , yy ___F2 generation will be obtained.

In that YY, Yy will be black and yy will be white.

3/4th were black and 1/2 were white. 3:1 ratio.

Law of Dominance: Characters are controlled by discrete units called factors, factors occur in pairs , in a dissimilar pair of factors one member of the pair dominated and the other recessive.

Law of segregation: the factors or alleles of a pair segregate from each other such that a gamete receives onlyvonecof the two factors .
