Mr. Cuss is a general practitioner in Iping. He gets his clothes stolen. He is an educated member of the village. He is curious to know about Griffin. He contrives for an interview with the stranger. During the Interview the stranger removes his hand from his pocket. Cuss is able to see down the empty sleeve to the elbow. Cuss questions him about moving an empty sleeve. He is hit on his nose by the stranger and leaves the place in terror.

Dr.Cuss was the general practitioner in Iping. He becomes curious about the stranger living at the inn and comes to interview him under the pretext of selection of local nurse. He goes to demand a prescription. His curiosity gives him the shock of his life when the stranger reveals his invisible hand. Dr.Cuss is very inquisitive and he wanted to further investigate the stranger's room. Both the vicar and Dr.Cuss try to read the three books, but as they are in coded language, they fail to do so. In fact, both of them are robbed of their clothes.
