The full name of Mr. Otis was Hiram B Otis. He was an American Minister . Mr. Otis was a very bold and fearless man. He did not believe in the existence of ghosts. he was very determinate and practical towards different situation or things. He was the father of the Otis family. Not only this but he also speaks ppenly without any fear. Leaving his character from realistic things he was also very honest and loyal person. He was a man who dont sits with fear while tepubles come in life but he was a man who seek solutions to problems. Hence, he was a man who believes in self-confidenc, simple living and own rules of life.

The full name of Mr. Otis was Hiram B Otis. He was an American Minister . Mr. Otis was a very bold and fearless person. He did not believe in the existence of ghosts. He was totally materialistic , rational and ruthless in his attitude. He believed that money can buy anything, even a ghost. he bought the canterville chase, though he was told that it was a haunted house.



He was bold and faced the ghost fearlessly . when the ghost appeared at night like a terrible old man, he remained calm. when he saw that heavy chains of the ghost were making noise, he gave the ghost a bottle of lubricant instead of fearing him.


He was a very affectionate and loving father. he loved his daughter, Virginia the most. when she was lost , he did his best to find her. he decides to send telegram to the police inspectors to look for her. when he thought that the gypsies might have kidnapped her, he went Bexley, a village, well-known for gypsies.


But, he failed to find her there. when the ghost gave jewels to Virginia, he believed that they rightly belonged to the Lord's family . he offered them to the Lord canterville but he refused. he did not like the British convections . he was extremely fond of Duke of Cheshire, but objected the titles because he was a thorough Republican.
