Darwin talked about Natural selection as being a naturally occurring phenomenon wherein the species that produces more progeny (i.e.reproductively fit) will be the ones selected by nature. Mendel's work experimentally exhibits the fact that the one which will be having dominant trait will be expressed (unlike the recessive trait).
That's the point where you draw a conclusion on the fact that the one which will be reproductively fit will be called naturally selected.
