Hey MATE!!

(x+1)^2 = 2(x-3)

=> x^2 + 2x + 1 = 2x - 6

=> x^2 + 7 = 0

Since it contains a 2 degree term which is its highest degree, hence it forms a quadratic equation.

Hope it helps

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+1)^2 = 2(x-3)

Or, x^2 + 2x + 1 = 2x - 6

Or, x^2 = - 7
