chemical reaction takes place when iron dust is added into copper sulphate solution but no reaction takes place when copper dust is added into ferrous sulphate solution why plg give suitable answer which can be written in exam and ansr should be understandabe

Since copper has less outer shells than Iron, it is less reactive than Iron. That is why when Iron dust is added to copper sulphate solution then it displaces copper from the solution, thereby turning the solution greenish.

The green colour indicates the presence of Fe2+ ions in the solution. This is a single displacement reaction, and copper does not have the potential to displace ferrous from a ferrous sulphate solution.

That is why no reaction takes place when copper dust is added into ferrous sulphate solution
