When electricity is passed through water bubbles of Oxygen and hydrogen are respectively release that the electrodes connected to ** positive ( anode ) ** and ** negative ( cathode ) ** terminals of a cell .
this is because since oxygen is negatively charged is attracted by the positive terminal and since hydrogen is positively charged it is attracted by the negative terminal .
