INCIDENT RAY : The Ray of light which falls on the surface of the mirror or strikes a reflecting surface is called the incident ray. The incident ray travel from an optical medium and starts from an object.
The point where the incident ray falls on the surface or strikes a reflecting surface is called the point of incidence.
•If the incident ray falls on a plane mirror along the normal (90°) the reflected ray will travel back along the same path and the angle of incidence and angle of refraction are at 0°.
• The angle between the incident ray and the normal forms the angle of incidence.
•The angle between the reflected ray and the normal at the point of incidence is known as angle of reflection.
