QUESTION :

Consider the direction codes given below:

A @ B = A is 10 yards to the left of B.

A# B = A is 15 yards to the right of B.

A $ B = A is 5 yards to the right of B.

A% B = A is 20 yards to the left of B.

What is the position of Z with respect to W, if the direction of Z is given

by: Z @ X % Y$ W?

ANSWER :

Z is 25 yards to the left of W .

  • Since it is said Z @ X , it means Z is 10 yards to the left of X .
  • Again it says X % Y , it means X is 20 yards to the left of B , hence the distance between Z and Y is (10+20) = 30 yards .
  • Till now, Z is 30yards to the left of Y .
  • Now, it says Y $ W, which means Y is 5 yards to the right of W.
  • Hence, the final position of Z is = (30-5) = 25 yards to the left of W.

Hence, Z is 25 yards to the left of W .
