some causes ::-
1) from the long war of independence the treasury of the king was empty. this forced to add financial crisis.
2) Also, The king was leading a luxirous life.
3) the first and second estate ::- nobility and clergy were exempt from paying taxes,, in case the 3rd estate had to pay alll the taxes and had all the burden of taxes.
