Cite five examples/situations where electrostatics is observed

1. When we comb our hairs at night with plastic comb, a light sparks, which is called as static electricity.

2. This phenmenon is also applied in daytime during straightening of hairs.

3.  While rubbing  feet on carpet , suddenly zap something when touch it. Static electricity is produced.

4.  Van de Graaff generators are used for high voltage detection    due t static electricity.

5. As we unwrap our lunch, the plastic bag gets charged with a positive charge which is then attracted towards our negatively charged clothing. Due to this fact when one object is negatively charged and the other is positively charged they will be attracted towards each other.

1) Woollen Clothing :  when taking off woollen clothing the rub against the other items of clothing makes the wool negatively charged.

2) Photocopies : Photocopies also need electrostatic forces to work. 

3) Plastic Bags : As you unwrap your lunch. the plastic bag gets positively charged as the food is negatively charged.

4) Lightening : Lightening is another example of electrostatic forces
