Carbon Dioxide is released and reacts with water to form carbonic acid.

Lime water is calcium hydroxide. It reacts with carbonic acid to form calcium carbonate and water.

Calcium carbonate is white in colour and insoluble in water and hence precipitates out and turns water milky.

When we heat then there is a formation of carbon dioxide. But it turns milky coz of excessive heating by which there is a formation of calcium carbonate.
Hope it helps u dear
