Tea is an aromatic beverage which is the second most drunk beverage in the world after water. Tea is made from cured tea leaves which are collected from South Asian countries such as India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia etc.

Tea originated from China and Burma (Myanmar) around 22,000 years ago. The trend of drinking tea later entered Europe during the 18th Century and spread over the world through British Colonization. 

Tea leaves are grown on highland terraces with temperature below 29 degrees Celsius. Ideal locations for growing tea are mountainous regions.

Advantages of Tea:  

(i) Tea has been used as medication in China for several years

(ii) Tea is used for skincare

(iii) Some forms of Tea for example green tea are used for reducing weight.

Disadvantages of Tea:

(i) Excessive of tea may cause arthritis specially in women
