Answer:
two shades of shylock's character are
1) when tubal gives him bad news such as Jessica's extravagance it stab into shylock's heart
but on the other hand when tubal gives him a good news such as Antonio's loose comes to him
as healing remedy , so this rise and fall in shylock's emotions imparts a rare dramatic intensity to
the scene.
2) Shylock is portrayed as blood thristy, very rude , arrogant as he was only worried for his money not for
his daughter but on other hand when he knew about the engagement ring that his daughter sold it for a monkey
he was felling very low and tortured.
