'Vertebrates' are animals that have backbones or a spinal column. Fish, mammals, bird, reptiles and amphibians are 'animals' that have vertebrates.

EXPLANATION:

Fish live in water and breathe through gills. They lay eggs to reproduce. Birds are animals that have feathers and wings.

Birds lay eggs. While most birds have the ability to 'fly', there are some that do not have flying tendencies. 'Birds' and 'fish' are vertebrates but birds stay on land and fly in air whereas fish live in water.
