Compare LPG and wood as fuels.

LPG:

It has more calorific value about 55000 kJ/kg It does not cause any environmental problem. It is smokeless fuel. It is easy to store and can be easily transported in cylinders and pipelines. Low Ignition temprature

wood:

It has less calorific value about 17000 to 22000 kJ/kg On burning wood release unburnt carbon particles which cause diseases such as asthma It gives out lot of smoke It needs a lot of space to store also very difficult to transport. High Ignition temprature

LPG (liquid petroleum gas) and woods are the most used fuel materials by ourselves.

The major differences between these two fuel materials are:

1) The calorific values are higher for the LPG.

2) The harmful gas emission occurs more during the combustion of the LPG.

3) The LPG cannot be used directly as fuel after we harvest them from the nature but we can directly use the woods as fuel materials as soon as we collect them.

4) The prices of the LPG are higher than the woods.
