The supply of water to the crops at regular intervals is basically termed as irrigation.
Irrigation depends on 3 factors:
● nature of soil
● nature of plants
● season in which the crop is growing
There are two types of irrigation:
● Drip irrigation
● sprinkler system.
The holes in the pipes allow water to fall in the form of drops just at the position of roots. Water conserving method , less water wasted.
In this method, water is sprayed on the plants from the rotating nozzles. The sprinklers are joined at the main pipeline at regular interval.
useful for soils like sandy soil and uneven land where water is insufficient.
