Rajya Sabha

It is the Upper house of the Parliament of India.

It is also known as the Council of States as its members are elected not by the general public but by the members of the state legislative assembly.

These people are known as Rajya Sabha MP's.

Their legislative power

- This sabha cannot be dissolved under any circumstances once made. So that means its decisions are important and definite.

-Its term lasts for 6 years of time.

Financial power:

- They are the ultimate deciding authority.

Any approved bill, enacted and or law has to be approved by this sabha. They make the final call.

Lok Sabha:

-It is the Lower house of the Parliament of India.

-It is also known as the House of People as its members are directly elected by the general public through the general elections.

- They are known as Lok Sabha MP's.

- This sabha however can be dissolved in a state of emergency as imposed by the president of India.

- Comparatively it lasts for a term of 5 years which is less than the raj sabha's tenure.

Financial power:

- Their power is limited because even though they can create bills, amend them take charge of financial budgets, but they get sent to raj sabha for checking. So its their final call.
