Actually ductility is defined as the ability of material to drawn into thin wires and this property is shown my metals.

nonmetals don't possess this property...so u know which property they show?....

umm...they show brittleness.....it means whenever a small force will be applied to non metals they will breakdown.

for eg glass....if u apply small force then glass will not stretch ...it will break.

HEYA !!

In metals , it has the property of being stretched into thin wires .and it does not become brittle or weaker but if we want to stretch a non metal it will break. For example 1 gram of gold can be streched into 2 km long wire . But we can't do this with a non metal.
