To compare :

  • Pinhole camera and Human eye .

So, let's first understand the working !

  • Pinhole camera is a cuboidal device (box) in which there is a small hole in one side and the inside of the box is painted black.

  • Human Eye is an advanced organ in the human body responsible for vision.

  • In pinhole camera , light rays originating from the object passes through the hole on one side of the box and a real, inverted smaller image is produced on the screen on the inside of the box.

  • In human eye, light rays originating from the object undergo diffraction at the lens and a real inverted image is formed at the retina (which acts as the focal plane).

Pin hole camera and Real camera:

  • Pinhole camera working is discussed earlier.

  • Real cameras use a convex lens, which produce a real image of the object by refraction.

\star Refer to the diagram.
