The Birthday Party
Once upon a time, the lion, the king of the forest, planned his son's birthday party. He invited all the animals and birds of the forest to participate in the grand function.
'Why don't we invite man too for the party? This way he will become our friend," said the lioness to her husband.
The lion liked the idea and soon an invitation was sent to man, who lived on the edge of the forest with his family.
The big day arrived. Guests started arriving from different parts of the forest and soon the lion's garden was filled with the birds and animals of the forest and their families. It was a great sight to behold!
Suddenly, there was a hush. All music stopped and everybody turned towards the gate. The animals were surprised and shocked to see their worst enemy, the man, standing there with his family. Some animals scattered and hid behind trees in fear. Birds flew away. And some animals, which were bold, pounced in front of man ready to attack him.
"Calm down my friends. Don't be afraid. He is our guest today. I have invited him to the party," said the lion, trying to pacify the animals.
The animals were angry that the lion took a dangerous decision without taking them into confidence. But as the man slowly came into the garden, his children started mingling with the animal cubs and pups. The man's children and animal babies had a great time and they danced and sang and played games. Everybody forgot that the man and his family were amidst him. They enjoyed like a one family.
By the end of the party it was time to leave.
"Thanks a lot for the invitation, Oh lion king. Today I learnt a lesson. We are all friends to each other. I promise you that from today, there won't be any threat to the animals in the forest. We will live peacefully and our children can be friends", said the man, bowing solemnly in front of the lion and his family.
There was a great cheer as the animals bid good bye to man and his family and the animals and man lived happily ever after.
