a) mass no. of X = No. of protons + no. of neutrons
= 8 + 8 = 16
mass no. of Y = No. of protons + no. of neutrons = 8 + 10 = 18
b) electronic configuration of X = 2 , 6
electronic configuration of Y = 2 , 6
c) The similarity between X and Y is that both X and Y have same no. of electrons present in them . So because of this both has same electronic configuration also.
