value of r = 7 and value of q = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

for the given positive intergers a and b, there exists a unique pair of integers q and r

such that

a= bq+r ..1

taking a = 23 and b = 8

on dividing 23 by 8 we get

quotient = 2

remainder = 7

then placing values in equation 1

we get

23= (8×2)+7..2

on comparing 1 and 2 we get to know

q= 2 and r = 7

hence , value of r = 7 and value of q = 2
