Answers
Answer:
The Preamble to any Constitution is a brief introductory statement that conveys the guiding principles of the document. It is like an introduction or preface of a book. As an introduction, it is not a part of the contents but it explains the purposes and objectives with which the document has been written. So is the case with the ‘Preamble’ which serves as an introduction to the Indian Constitution.
The Preamble to our Constitution embodies the fundamental values and the philosophy on which the Constitution is based. It sets out the main objectives which the Constituent Assembly intended to achieve. It acts as a guide for generations to come for telling them when and how this free land started and what this nation stands for. It embodies the ideals and aspirations of the people of India. The Preamble shows general purpose of the provisions in the Constitution. As the Supreme Court has observed the Preamble is a key to unravel the minds of the makers of the Constitution. And accordingly Supreme Court has many a time taken help of the Preamble to interpret and review the laws. It provides the essence of the Constitution and in short reveals what the Constitution is all about.
